Evolving Technologies That You Can Use Daily

GeroTechSC is a student-run service organization focused on the intersection of technology and older adults. “We are committed to empowering this underrepresented population of our society through intergenerational workshops with seniors and students alike.”
In partnership with the Emeriti Center and the Half Century Trojans, GeroTech SC is hosting a workshop that will incorporate a variety of technology utilized on a daily basis, including but not limited to:
- Navigating transportation services (Uber, Lyft, etc.)
- Working in-store kiosks or self-checkout machines
- Setting up Digital Wallets: Apply Pay/Google Pay/Samsung Pay
- Exploring other smart devices: robot vacuums, robot delivery machines, technology-directed toasters, and thermostats, etc.
- Setting up Bluetooth (CarPlay, Airdrop, Air Tag, Find My iPhone)
This workshop will be student-led by the GeroTech team, and the presentation will include videos and demonstrations to increase comprehension and accessibility, followed by Q&A from attendees.
