Event Recap – Healthy Aging Series: Tips on How to be Part of Your Own Healthcare Team

Unsure on what to ask your healthcare provider?

On August 1st at 1:00 PM, the Emeriti Center hosted a virtual event focused on what to discus with your healthcare provider as a patient. This event provided the unique opportunity of listening to the wide ranging expertise of a pharmacist, physician’s assistant, and occupational therapist all at once.  The three speakers leading the discussion were Theresa Sivers-Teixeira, Ashley Halle, and Patrick K. Tabon, who you can read about below. This was the first event in the “Healthy Aging Series”, a collection of wellness events with health professionals who are experts in their fields.

The Healthy Aging Series focuses on ways to take an active role in your health and wellness. Over the course of the series inter-professional healthcare team members will share their knowledge and answer health related questions from the audience. The first session focused on YOU and what conversations you should have with your doctor regarding your health. Patients should feel comfortable discussing various topics with their provider as they age, and this event will help you feel more at ease when handling your health with your provider.
