The J. Tillman Hall Staff Award for Service to USC is presented to Janet E. Eddy. Janet’s work history at USC spans an impressive 25 years, and she dedicated the last 10 years of her career as the Director of Disability Services and Programs. In this role, she worked to improve the academic experience for students with disabilities, specializing in learning disabilities. Janet has championed these programs and services which have furthered the University’s teaching, research and community service mission.

Upon retirement in 2001, she continued her volunteerism within the USC community. She is an active member of numerous organizations within the USC community, the Half Century Trojans, the Trojan Guild, Town & Gown’s Scholarship Committee, the Trojan League, the Norris Cancer Hospital Auxiliary, the Staff Retirement Association (SRA), and the Class of 1953’s 50th Reunion Committee. She also previously served on the Board of Women in Management and for over 20 years on the Board of Phi Kappa Phi. Janet has been prominently recognized for her ongoing service, receiving the Phi Kappa Phi Meritorious Service Award and was recognized as “Retiree of the Quarter” by the USC Emeriti Center. She also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the USC Torch and Tassel Chapter of Mortar Board in 2001 when she retired and a USC Alumni Service Award in 2009.

As a testament to her endless dedication to the University, Janet is currently the President-Elect of the Half Century Trojans and will be installed as President this coming spring. She brings to the table a wealth of institutional, historical and cultural knowledge of the University, which is vital to the mission of the Half Century Trojans, an organization that aims to preserve USC’s history and traditions and promote philanthropy and legacy initiatives within the Trojan Family.

Outside of USC, Janet has been actively involved with philanthropic work within her community, including the Angeles Girl Scout Council, the Assistance League of Los Angeles, and La Canada Presbyterian Church, where she serves as Chair of the Worship Ministry Support Team.

Janet’s visionary leadership and support for the ever-changing University priorities distinguish her as an exemplary alumna, retiree, and volunteer, and her friends and colleagues deeply admire and respect the commitment and devotion she has demonstrated to this University throughout her entire life.
