Emeriti College
The USC Emeriti College, a division of the USC Emeriti Center, was established in 1990. It aims to identify and advance the continuing intellectual interests of retirees.
The USC Emeriti College facilitates the service of scholars to society, helping disseminate their accumulated knowledge and wisdom in lectures, short courses and occasional publications both collegially and for the benefit of the general public. The College’s ultimate goal is to provide means by which mature persons may keep their minds vigorous, their interests expanding and deepening, and their skills sharp.
Retired faculty and staff teach or take courses together to share their knowledge and participate in new learning experiences. Every year the Emeriti College sponsors many events and programs in the community, including lectures, discussions, and multi-generational forums. Many retired faculty and staff teach or take courses to share their knowledge or participate in new learning experiences. The philosophy that “retirement is a terrible thing to waste” is evident in their attitudes and their enthusiasm.

Community Involvement
Hosting a lecture series at The Huntington Library through the Noboru Inamoto Lectureship program
The friends and family of Noboru Inamoto established the Inamoto Lectureship in 1997 as a means of fulfilling the lifelong ideals of Professor Inamoto: to support closer ties between individuals and institutions in the United States of America and Japan and other East Asian countries.
With thanks to Barbara Inamoto, our generous retiree donor and widow of Prof. Noboru Inamoto, the USC Emeriti Center is co-sponsoring a series of evening lectures at the Huntington Library February through April.
