Carlos Marin

Carlos Marin (2019) majored in Astronautical Engineering BA  and then earned his MA at USC in the same field. In 2020 worked as a  Test Engineer for a small start-up and helped build two one-of-a-kind thrusters which use radio frequencies to create plasma to propel satellites in Earth’s orbit that were launched into space. On Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. EST, Falcon 9 launched Transporter-1, SpaceX’s first dedicated SmallSat Rideshare Program mission, from the Space Launch Complete at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. “Growing up I would have never thought that I, a kid from South Central Los Angeles, born from parents who risked everything by coming to a new country with little more than the clothes on their backs, would have the opportunity to send hardware to space.”
