She is one of only 200 undergraduate students that has been accepted into the prestigious Thematic Option program with aspirations of attending Law School after completing her undergraduate degree.
Genesis graduated from Manual Arts High School as the 2024 Class Valedictorian. She served as a member of the Magnet Senate Leadership group’s Chairwoman/Communications Committee. A few of the acknowledgments she earned include the Golden State Seal Merit Diploma, the JROTC Distinguished Cadet Award for Scholastic Excellence, and the Seal of Biliteracy. In the summer of 2022, she participated in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s NextGen Program. She traveled to Washington D.C, toured the city and participated in political debates, and attended workshops to learn about how the congressional system functions. She conducted interviews with former California Representative Lucille Roybal-Allard, and California Senator Alex Padilla.
She spent this past summer as an English tutor to Spanish speaking K-12 students from underserved neighborhoods in Baja California. Genesis enjoys reading, knitting, and going on walks. She is very excited to start school in the fall, and looks forward to reaching amazing new milestones as she looks to the future in her college career.
