Transportation Services in Los Angeles County

LADOT/Cityrideis a transportation assistance program for individuals age 65 or older and qualified disabled persons in the City of Los Angeles and select areas of Los Angeles County. The program offers Cityride participants reduced costs for the purchase of the City of Los Angeles permitted taxi rides and Cityride Dial-A-Ride services.  Cityride card must be purchased but can be used for reduced taxi fare with taxicab companies permitted by the City of Los Angeles. LADOT DASH – DASH provides local, community-based shuttles. Six routes serve Downtown LA, over twenty routes serve various communities of the city.  The fare is $0.15 for seniors.

Metrolink – Among cities by rail serve:  Downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, San Bernardino, Anaheim, and several stations on USC campus 1 (800) 371-5465.  Metro link pass determined station to station.  Sr. discount 25% off monthly and 7-day pass, 50% off one-way and round trip.

EZ Transit Pass – $35 month for seniors.  Monthly transit passes good for local travel on 24 different public transits carriers throughout the Greater Los Angeles.  Passengers transferring to Metrolink must possess Metrolink pass.  EZ Passes can be purchased at Ralph’s, Von’s, and the Municipal transit store.  1 (323) GO-METRO

ACCESS – Access is curb-to-curb accessible paratransit transportation for functionally disabled individuals in Los Angeles County.  One-way fare is based on the distance traveled with a maximum fare of $3.00.  1 (800) 827-0829 or 1 (800) 883-1295

PASADENA ARTS BUS, Senior Fare 35 cents, EZ pass accepted  1 (626) 744-4055. Pasadena Dial-A-Ride is a shared curb-to-curb transportation service provided for residents who are sixty years or older and live in Pasadena, San Marino, Altadena, and specific unincorporated cities in the area. CULVER CITY BUS 1 (310) 253-6500   Senior Fare 10 cents local. EZ pass accepted. Areas served:  Venice, Westchester, Westwood, West Los Angeles, Palms, Marina Del Rey, Rancho Park, Mar Vista, Century City and Culver City Telephone: Dial-A-Ride services available to seniors (310) 253-6729.

SANTA MONICA’S BIG BLUE BUS – 1 (310) 451-5444  Senior Fare 50 cents local,  $1.00 rapid, 30-day pass $24 local, $40 rapid. EZ Pass accepted Areas served: Santa Monica, West LA, Pacific Palisades, Century City, Beverly Hills, Cheviot Hills and Downtown LA, including LAX, Rimpau Transit Center and UCLA

WEST HOLLYWOOD TRANSIT – 1 (800) 447-2189 – 30-day bus pass $8.00 per month www.weho.orgThe Dial-A-Ride provides service to Kaiser-Sunset, Kaiser-Cadillac, UCLA Medical Centers, Veterans Hospital, and Beverly Hills, Century City, and mid-Wilshire medical offices.

TORRANCE TRANSIT – 1  (310)  618-6266  Service Area:  Torrance, Gardena, Redondo Beach, Lomita, Carson, Downtown LA, Los Angeles International Airport, Long Beach, Lawndale, Manhattan Beach, Hawthorne and El Segundo  Dial-A-Taxi for medical appointments (310) 618-2536. Fare $1.00 each way, personal care attendant free.

PALOS VERDES PENINSULA TRANSIT AUTHORITY (PVPTA)  – 1 (310) 544 -7108  No senior fare listed: tokens  $2.50  Monthly Pass $77.00; provides 8 fixed route services in the Palos Verdes Peninsula weekdays only. DAR/DAL (Dial-A-Ride) service goes off the Palos Verdes Peninsula for medical purposes only. The service goes to all hospitals, medical buildings, and doctors offices in the following areas: Torrance, Harbor City, San Pedro, and Redondo Beach (primarily South Bay Medical Center on Prospect)
