Event Recap – USC Museums with Bethany Montagano

The Emeriti Center spotlighted Director of USC Museums, Bethany Montagano, on March 3rd where she presented an informational session about the museums and libraries on campus. As the Director of USC Museums, Dr. Montagano oversees both the USC Fisher Museum of Art and the USC Pacific Asia Museum. Slides and the recorded video will be posted here shortly.

Dr. Montagano assumed the artistic and creative leadership role of Director of USC Museums in January of 2022. In 2019, she was selected through an international search by the USC Pacific Asia Museum and USC’s Provost’s Office to be the cultural historian of the USC Pacific Asia Museum. She was also previously the interim Director of USC Museums and Galleries. Prior to her appointment at USC’s Pacific Asia Museum, Dr. Montagano served as the senior Curator at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles and played a formidable role in the opening of both the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian as well as the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History.
