Emily Chavez-Torres graduated from Crenshaw High School as class salutatorian. She
enrolled in all the AP classes available at Crenshaw and was recognized for her academic and
athletic skills and won many awards ranging from Principals Honor Roll to becoming one of
the best on the school’s golf team.
During ninth grade she participated in a program named 3-Dimensional Education (3DE), that
presented business challenges along with strengthening skills in leadership, collaboration,
and public speaking. She learned how to deal with conflict and to encourage others to give
input as she guided her team to success. She discovered that building trust and having the
perseverance to guide others to success determines a strong leader.
She credits much of her experience in leadership to the multiple clubs and organizations she
was active in during her time at Crenshaw High School. She was involved in USC Upward
Bound and the UCLA Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP). She also had experience as an
intern for US Bank.
Emily chose to major in Business Administration with a goal of becoming a business leader
who will create impact beyond the classroom. Her interests align with the various concepts
taught in Marshall; the emphasis on experimental learning, the immersive dynamic
business environments with hands-on consulting and the internships involving well-known
companies.
Outside of school she enjoys drawing and spending time with her family.
