SUMMARY:Intellectual Journey with Jerry Mendel
DESCRIPTION:Jerry Mendel came to USC in 1974 and became Professor Emeritus in 2018. He is a leading scholar in a number of fields\, especially signal processing\, control systems\, fuzzy logic and its applications for decision-making and computing\, and artificial intelligence. He is the author or co-author of almost 600 articles and 13 books and is a Lifetime Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers\, a Distinguished Member of the IEEE Control Systems Society\, and the recipient of many awards from the IEEE and other associations.
