Jonathan Casper, PhD
Topic: The Physical and Psychosocial Benefits of Pickleball with Older Adults

Dr. Casper is an Associate Professor and Sport Management Program Coordinator in the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management in the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University. Dr. Casper’s research focuses on the psychological factors associated with sport participation and how these factors relate to the recruitment and retention of sports participants. His work ultimately contributes to improved human health through continued sports participation.
Dr. Casper will be presenting on the physical and psychosocial benefits of pickleball with older adults. His talk will :
- Recognize how pickleball participation helps older adults meet CDC guidelines for physical activity
- Identify motivation and constraint factors related to older adult pickleball participation.
- Explain how pickleball contributes to older adults’ social and psychological wellbeing
