Katherine Schlaerth was awarded the Douglas C. Basil Award for her study to investigate the circumstances under which elderly individuals who are non-English speaking, isolated or lack access to resources, are living, including type and quality of housing, mode of procuring and preparing food, accessibility of transportation, ability to safely perform the activities of daily living.
