Transportation Resources for Los Angeles County

LADOT/Cityride is a transportation assistance program for individuals age 65 or older and qualified disabled persons in the City of Los Angeles and select areas of Los Angeles County. The program offers Cityride participants reduced costs for the purchase of City of Los Angeles permitted taxi rides and Cityride Dial-A-Ride services.  Cityride card must be purchased but can be used for reduced taxi fare with taxicab companies permitted by the City of Los Angeles.

LADOT DASH – DASH provides local, community based shuttles. Six routes serve Downtown LA, over twenty routes serve various communities of the city.  Fare is 15 cents for seniors.

METROLINK – Among cities by rail serve:  Downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, San Bernardino, Anaheim, and several stations on USC campus 1 (800) 371-5465.  Metro link pass determined by station to station.  Sr. discount 25% off monthly and 7-day pass, 50% off one-way and round trip.  www.metrolinktrain.com/

EZ PASS – $35 month for seniors.  Monthly transit passes good for local travel on 24 different public transits carriers throughout the Greater Los Angeles.  Passengers transferring to Metrolink must possess Metrolink pass.  EZ Passes can be purchased at Ralph’s, Von’s, and the Municipal transit store.    1 (323) GO-METRO   www.metro.net/riding/fares/ez-transit-pass/

PALOS VERDES PENINSULA TRANSIT AUTHORITY (PVPTA)  – 1 (310) 544 -7108  No senior fare listed:   tokens  $2.50  Monthly Pass $77   provides 8 fixed route services in the Palos Verdes Peninsula weekdays only. DAR/DAL (Dial-A-Ride) service goes off the Palos Verdes Peninsula for medical purposes only. The service goes to all hospitals, medical buildings, and doctors offices in the following areas: Torrance, Harbor City, San Pedro, and Redondo Beach (primarily South Bay Medical Center on Prospect)www.Palosverdes.com/pvtransit/
