On Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, the PLATO Society of Los Angeles Colloquium is hosting an event in the Skirball Magnin Auditorium with Dan Schnur, a political consultant and Director of the Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics. From 12:45 p.m., coffee and cookies are served, and from 1:30-3:00 p.m. the program begins. The event is open to the public, and there is free parking.

Dan Schnur is a popular PLATO colloquium speaker, having given talks in 2012 and 2016. He has spent much of his career as a preeminent political consultant, spending nearly 20 years in state and national politics, working on four presidential campaigns and three campaigns for governor of California. He served as chairman of the California Fair Political Practice Commission, was communications director for Governor Pete Wilson and for Senator John McCain’s 2000 presidential campaign, as well as having taught politics, communications and leadership at USC. He has been Director of the Jesse M. Unruh Insititue of Politics, and was a founder of the USC/LA Times statewide political poll.
