Los Angeles County has the highest unsheltered homeless population in the nation, but we don’t have to accept homelessness as an unsolvable problem. Together, we can help end this.
2018 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count – January 23-25.
Registration is open at www.theycountwillyou.org
Be sure to put in your USC email so we can track our volunteer numbers. If you want to volunteer around campus, select Newton Station or LA Child Guidance Clinic sites, however you may choose any listed area to help.
USC is recruiting as many volunteers as we can – last year we had at least 350 helpers from USC’s recruitment. Let’s see if we can surpass that in 2018! You will join a team of volunteers and count numbers of persons you observe sleeping on the ground, in tents, makeshift shelters, cars, or RVs. The count is scheduled for the last week of January from 8 pm to about 11 pm. The results are submitted to the federal government, impact funding coming to the Los Angeles area, and help local officials know better where to target the available resources. Your participation and support is deeply appreciated!
